GIS SPECIALIST
We are wishing to appoint a skilled and experienced GIS Specialist to work in our Geomatics Department based at the Oxford office.
This is your opportunity to join Oxford Archaeology's growing team of surveyors and GIS analysts, who are developing new innovative forms of data capture and analysis within professional archaeology.
The successful applicant must have a first degree in archaeology or related subject, and preferably a post graduate qualification in GIS or related area. You must have experience (minimum 6 months) with applying CAD and GIS to environmental research preferably within archaeology. A background of Arcview 3.x and ArcGIS 9.x is essential, with knowledge of MapInfo and / or other GIS packages considered an advantage. Familiarity with metric and landscape survey techniques is also an advantage.
The successful applicant will have a proven record of having conducted spatial analysis and landscape analysis using GIS packages.
Membership of the Institute of Field Archaeologists is desirable, as is a clean full driving licence.
SALARY RANGE: £15,104 - £20,353 pa (depending on qualifications and experience)
