All calleges,
Several natural deposits of pumice are found around
Sahand mountain in NW Iran. These deposits consist of
layers of loose material from ½ to 80 meters
thicknesses in Khoshbaf mine. Based upon sieve
analyses the maximum size of particles in each deposit
varied with location and ranged from as much as 3 cm
down to 0.1 mm in size and density from0.4 to 0.7
g/cm3 which are mixed by lithic (andesite) particles
(20-1mm in size & 2.6 g/cm3) and formed 20 vol% this
deposit.
We are looking for a applicable technique for
separation of lithic portion from pumice such as
winnowing or other methods for using puritic pumice in
production of lightweight concrete, soil conditioner,
abrasives, …
Any advice would be welcome
Best Regards
