Dear all,
I've had an identification enquiry come in, a mineral from Romania (photos attached). It looks like prismatic quartz to me, which has been deposited on another mineral which has since been dissolved away, leaving a network of "valleys" (see gavra2.jpg). This had a bladed habit (reminiscent of desert rose). The enquirer says it was sold to him as "gavra". Has anybody heard of this term before, or seen a specimen like this from Romania?
Thanks,
Mark
