Colleagues
I have finally set myself to finding out what this is & have been successful!!. It is a promotional event run, since 1960, by the publishers Gallimard and intended to increase sales of their prestige collection "Bibliothèque de la Pléiade". It takes place in the last 2 weeks of May (hence "Quinzaine" de la Pléiade), almost every year and operates in the following way. During these 2 weeks, bookshops which sell Gallimard publications are allowed to give one copy of Gallimard's latest "Album littéraire" to every customer who buys at least 3 volumes from the Pléiade collection.
The Albums are specially produced for this occasion, their contents are closely linked to recent Gallimard publications and they are not otherwise available. Consequently, many of them quickly become valuable on the rare books / second-hand market. If anyone reading this has a copy of the 1962 Balzac Album, it just may help to pay off your mortgage.!!!

Dear Colleagues
I'm aware of the 'Quinzaine de la Pléiade' which takes place in May each year. The question is, when in May? I've checked out the Gallimard website, albeit fleetingly, but can find no mention of it.
Any answers/suggestions gratefully received!!
On a separate note, I found the Collaborative Collection Management conference on Monday very interesting, and it was very good to meet colleagues from other institutions.
Best wishes
