Fee Waivers for Refugee Students on the Refugee Studies MA Programme at UEL
Sponsored by the Pauline Ortiz Memorial Fund
The MA Refugee Studies Programme at the University of East London is
pleased to announce a number of fee waivers available to qualified
students who can show that they have been granted refugee status or
have applied for asylum in the UK. A number of fee waivers, sponsored
by the Pauline Ortiz Memorial Fund, will be granted on the basis of
strong academic and/or relevant professional experience and financial
need.
Interested candidates may apply for the MA Refugee Studies and the
Pauline Ortiz Refugee Scholarship simultaneously; the deadline for
applications is June 30, 2005.
MA Refugee Studies
The MA in Refugee Studies is part of a dedicated programme of
teaching and research organised in association with the Refugee
Research Centre at the University of East London.
The multidisciplinary course links the study of forced migration to the
lived experience of refugee communities. It offers specialist options in
refugee and human rights law, migration and citizenship, refugees and
racism, refugee education and schools, gender and psycho-social
issues, and cultures of exile.
The one year full-time or two years part-time programme will interest
those concerned with refugee advocacy and welfare, migration,
ethnicity and diasporic studies, and social, cultural and legal theory.
