ONE DAY WORKSHOP:
Multiple discourses on local development: researching land, housing and
property
DESCRIPTION:
Land rights and its implications on local development are major concerns
of policy makers, international agencies, local community organizations
and academics. It is a complex and multiple discourse, where different
contexts have led to different approaches and views of the interaction
between these two concepts.
The objective of this one day workshop is to examine research challenges
methodologies which are exploring the links between land, housing and
property and local development from two inter connected perspectives:
- forced migration and
- urban change in developing world
