My name's Amanda Comoretto and I am a PhD Researcher in the Faculty of
Health and Social Care at London South Bank University (LSBU). My
research interests include resilience in adulthood, PTSD
(Posttraumatic Stress Disorder), coping with stress and adversity.
Prior to my career at LSBU, I completed an MSc in Child and Adolescent
Psychiatry, undertaking dissertation work on child abuse and risk
factors at the Institute of Psychiatry (King's College London, UK). I
completed my undergraduate work and earned a BSc in Psychology from
the University of Bath (UK).
If you are a humanitarian aid worker (volunteer or not) about to be
deployed on a national or international mission and would like to take
part in a study on resilience, commonly defined as human ability to
adapt positively to situations of exceptional adversity or trauma, I
am interested in hearing from you.
This investigation will be focused on humanitarian relief workers'
issues pre and post-deployment, explored through the administration of
a questionnaire at two different points in time. The key objective
will be to examine and identify the possible processes that lead to
resilience in personnel employed by humanitarian aid agencies.
For more information on this research please contact me, before the
beginning of your mission, by phone or email.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
