Vacancy: Country Analyst
The Geneva-based Global IDP Project of the Norwegian Refugee Council is
looking for an experienced Country Analyst to strengthen the Project's
research team. Mandated by the United Nations, the Global IDP Project is the
leading international body monitoring internal displacement worldwide. For

Responsibilities
Among the Country Analyst's main task will be the regular updating of country
profiles on internal displacement. This includes monitoring on a continuous
basis the political and internal displacement situation in several countries;
collecting and analysing relevant information; active networking with
humanitarian actors in the field and at headquarters level; conducting
occasional field visits; contributing to the development of country-specific
advocacy strategies; and writing detailed country reports which form the basis
of the Project's information and advocacy work. In addition, the Country
Analyst will be focal point for covering a thematic area related to internal
displacement.
Qualifications
Candidates should have an advanced degree, as well as documented knowledge in
the field of international humanitarian law and human rights, preferably with
a focus on forced migration. Applicants should have significant professional
research experience. Additional experience in working in the field, and
familiarity with the international humanitarian system at field or
headquarters level will be considered strong assets. Fluency in English and
excellent drafting skills are essential. Candidates should be highly
motivated, well organised, and able to work quickly and efficiently, including
under time pressure, within an international team.
