There's a piece in Holmlund and Wyatt's collection 'Contemporary American
Independent Film' by Diana Negra about Parker Posey, which is about the only
performer-focused piece I've read in this area. The main focus is on star
persona and how that fits in with particular taste cultures, rather than
acting as such, but it's a useful article.

I am currently writing a piece on the American independent films of the 90s
from the perspective of the acting they contained. My assumption is that no
substantial work has been done on the US indie from the actors' perspective.
Can anyone think of a book which goes into this aspect in any useful depth?
As
far as I know, none of the extant books do...
I'd be grateful for any feedback...
Best,
Richard
