Yes it is different, it is an attempt at an ideological paradigm, (actually I hate that word), or framework. The others are merely subsets and intending to be more specific. I think you can have plant ecology, autecology, and the others and not imply ideological interpretations. Socialist Ecology is clearly ideological.
