Dear Colleague
We warmly invite you to attend a one-day workshop in Madrid, Spain on 27th October, 2005. It will address all aspects of water in pavements:
Water contents observed in bound and unbound pavement material layers and in the subgrade.
The impact water content has on the mechanical properties of these materials.
Coupled hydro-mechanical modelling of pavement materials.
How and where the water moves in the pavement and subgrade.
Subsurface drainage methods and systems.
Use of soakaways, swales and porous sub-surface layers for storing and dissipation pavement runoff.
The quality of sub-surface water - is it polluted by water infiltrating from the surface or by leaching from pavement materials?
Predicting water movements and water content.
You can find preliminary details at www.watmove.org including information on how to submit an abstract for consideration.
We hope you can join us!
