Many of you will already know about or be using the services of BIGF - the
NERC British Isles GPS archive Facility http://www.bigf.ac.uk
The main features of the service are:
1/. Data are supplied free of charge to approved scientific users.
2/. The BIGF network now comprises close to 100 contributing stations.
3/. Some data sets reach back as far as 1996.
4/. BIGF is funded until at least 2009.
The utility of the service is demonstrated by the widening range of
science using the archive, for example:
Archaeology;
Coastal defence;
Landscape modelling;
Meteorology;
Monitoring coastal erosion;
Ocean tide loading;
Providing data sets for teaching;

There is a dedicated website http://www.bigf.ac.uk where you will find
everything you need to know about the archive and its services, together
with an online form to order data.
“The archive exists by virtue of a demonstrated need", so please use it,
and please tell your colleagues about it.
With kind regards
David
