Have you read Erwin's Panofsky's Perspective as Symbolic form? Quite
good, talks about a pre perspective system, and found it very
interesting how the external image is interpreted through the curved
surface of the back of the eye, but our brain has almost learned not to
see it, except maybe for entasis. I am reading about perspective at the
moment, the book I am just starting is 'The origin of perspective' by
Hubert Damisch.
Hope this is helpful.

Subject: Gombrich's "The Image and the Eye"
Dear drawing research network,
Has anybody read the chapter "Mirror and Map" in the book "The Image
and the Eye" by E.H.Gombrich?
I'm looking for reviews or thoughts on this essay. In particular any
thoughts on the validity of central perspective.
Many thanks,
Daisy MacKeith
