Caroline, you are probably going to find quite a bit of variety in the
definitions of drawing. I have pasted the details of a few seminal
texts below and if you go to the following website you can see a
bibliography on drawing with an emphasis on designing and computing.
It's desperately in need of updating but it might be helpful in its
current state. I'll post details of some more recent texts soon.
