Dear Colleagues,
Those who are interesting in teaching computers to draw may wish to
know about a computer called AARON.
The British artist Harold Cohen developed a computer and taught it
to draw. Much information on the Cohen web site, including many of
Cohens papers.

He worked with the distinguished computer scientist Ray Kurzweil,
and you can learn more about AARON on the Kurzweil Cyberart
web site and see AARON at work.

You can also see examples of AARON's work at
http://www.scinetphotos.com/aaron.html
Just as much children's art is superior to the work of trained artists
who are merely competent -- or at least more interesting -- I found
AARON's early, childlike drawings much better than the reasonably
competent work the computer is doing now. At the same time, much
of AARON's work today is at least as good at what I see in many
art schools.
Best regards,
--
