To answer your 'P.S.' Jenny, we do ours in our own time and for the love of
it (and not funded): however, I'm not saying that this is the most
realistic route! There are financial burseries and awards which I'm going
to investigate to fund my Phd...

I draw from what I draw.
ie, the experience for me is beneficial in that it is like a therapy, but
also offers a sort of meditational experience where I am absorbed in the
moment and appreciative of what I'm drawing (using studies from life). The
drawing does not aim to be realistic, merely inspired, and allows me to
engage with my surroundings in a creative and contemplative form of of
expression.
ps how does one go about getting a job researching drawing?
