Dear Lists,
I am working on a child-friendly talking comment form, and I am doing some
accessibility testing using the speech engine Ha,l within Dolphin Supernova.
Does anyone have any experience in testing Flash with a screen reader.
I have yet to get the screen reader to read out the text entered within the
text boxes by customers.
One route I am exploring is dispensing with the screen reader, and getting
the avatar to do the talking, including buttons that talk when you tab
through them
I have created a speech engine in Flash that will read out which key you
press, but it can only cope with one character at a time, so reading back
what has been written is not very friendly.
Anyone got any tips at all about this. Anything you have tried (including
failsures!), or any websites with details.
I am using Flash MX 2004 (flash 7 player), and Dolphin. I have not used
JAWS which is the one that Macromedia mentions on its site.
Many thanks,
Andrew Lewis
