This is a request for you to encourage people to submit a proposal for a
paper or poster at the 2006 Summit in Montreal that is entitled Social
Inclusion: Are We There Yet? There is a spirituality track for this
summit, with a request for papers or presentations that relate to
spirituality, religion, grief and mourning, accessibility to worship,
and other ways that spirituality and spiritual communities contribute to
social inclusion.
Information and a Call for Papers can be found at www.aamrqc.org. I
will be working with the planning committee to help form the program,
with John Swinton and Dianne Baxley also assisting. We hope that this
may be a first activity and opportunity to meet for a newly forming
international Special Interest Research Group in spirituality that we
are working on through IASSID.
On the assumption that the proposals and papers will be a rich variety
of subjects, we plan to ask the authors to submit their papers for a
focused issue of the Journal of Religion, Disability, and Health, which
might also be published as a book.
The deadline for proposals is October 17. Please consider offering to
do a presentation, and/or pass this on to others who might be
interested. If you know people in Canada who have interests in this
area, please pass this on to them.
Gratefully,
