I would go along with Tim Trent's view on this - but maybe if there is
an issue around people seeing names on reserved books, why not just use
their library number instead of their name, or alternatively give each
reservation a reservation number....... Sounds like an awful lot of
work, though, in light of what appears to be a minimal benefit....

Subject: [data-protection] reservations & data protection
I am investigating data protection issues relating to the collection of
reservations by customers in self service library systems. In your
library do you cover the book or item so that customers cannot see
titles or details of other peoples reservations or do you leave the item
in full view so that anyone can see what has been reserved & by whom.
Whichever way you have decided to deal with this issue I would welcome
feedback on why the decision was made.
