Information Society for all: Commission opens consultation
to make ICT products and services more accessible (10 January 2005)
The European Commission has launched on 10 January a public consultation on how to make the benefits of Information and Communication Technologies available to the widest possible range of citizens, including to older people and people with disabilities. This consultation is a first step in the Commission?s endeavour to remove the technical challenges and difficulties that people with disabilities and others experience when trying to use electronic products or services such as computers, mobile phones or the Internet.

Euro-Singapore ICT Cooperation Event
Singapore
With the aim to enhance scientific and technological cooperation between the EU and South East Asia in the ICT field, the European Commission will organise a series of cooperation events in 2005. The first such event will take place in Singapore on 27 and 28 January 2005. Similar events will be organised in Malaysia, Thailand and Taiwan. An EU-South East Asia Forum will be organised in 2006.

Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) Information Day

The Information Day will focus on the provision of up-to-date and first-hand information on the three FET calls (FP6 - 6th Framework Programme - 4th Call for proposals). opportunities and management experiences

Information workshop organized by Politecnico di Torino and APRE, where Future and Emerging Technologies and in particular the current IST call in "Situated and Autonomic Communications" will be presented and discussed. Nearly 200 researchers are expected to participate. In order to facilitate the organization of the venue, participants are asked to register before the 12th of January 2005.
