Open Workshop on e-Infrastructures
13 May 2005 Amsterdam, The NetherlandsThe main objective of the eInfrastructure initiative is to support the creation of a framework (political, technological and administrative) for the easy and cost-effective shared use of distributed electronic resources across Europe - particularly for grid computing, storage and networking. The e-Infrastructures Reflection Group (e-IRG) was founded to define and recommend best practices for each of the (pan-)European grid efforts. It consists of official government delegates from all EU countries. The ideas and recommendations are described in a white paper that is augmented upon each presidency.
