Agents and Multi-Agent Systems in Construction
Edited by C.J. Anumba, O.O.Ugwu and Z.Ren
Taylor and Francis are pleased to announce the launch of our
important new book, "Agents and Multi-Agent Systems in Construction". This
work is the product of an international collaboration between a network of
construction IT and computing researchers, each investigating different
aspects of agent theory and its applications.
With interest growing rapidly in this field, this timely
publication presents the latest advances and possible future directions in
the theory and application of intelligent agents and multi-agent systems
specifically for the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC)
sector. The use of intelligent agents and multi-agent systems across the
construction industries can improve efficiency and communication, and
ultimately deliver projects on time and on budget.
The contributed chapters cover different perspectives and
application areas, harnessing these emerging technologies for improved
business processes in the AEC sector. The first four chapters cover the
theoretical foundations of agent technology for a full introduction to the
subject, whilst the remaining chapters deal with the practical application
of agent-based systems for problem solving in the construction domain. This
book will be essential reading for industry practitioners interested in
distributed problem solving and researchers in the fields of agent
technology, construction IT, computer science, distributed collaboration,
and intelligent systems.
