Carol,
I'd like you to consider: http://blackboard.lambeth.ac.uk/c-me/
contact: [log in to unmask]
this site was designed for people with very low literacy, and the
homepage validates:
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://blackboard.lambeth.ac.uk/c-me
I wasn't involved in any way in it's production, but it was
influenced by a 2 year research project that I managed.
The peepo website is currently offline, but it is the only website
ever to receive 6 out of 6 for accessibility from the Foundation for
people with learning disabilities. http://
www.learningdisabilities.org.uk/page.cfm?pagecode=ISSIWDAS
The peepo homepage is archived here:
http://web.archive.org/web/20040924003346/http://www.peepo.co.uk/
launch/index.svg
you will need a SVG viewer from adobe: http://www.adobe.com/support/
downloads/main.html#Readers
this in turn was based on a previous 5 year project which is archived
here:

I've over eight years experience researching and advising on the
needs of people with learning disabilities and the internet*
If you need any further background please let me know.
cheers

Does anybody know where I might access samples of 'best practice'
and 'worst practice' Blackboard sites which I could use to show what
to aim
for and what to avoid in terms of accessibility? We would like to show a
few sites as part of an Accessibility session during a Blackboard
training
course and wanted to find one that was quite difficult to read, navigate
etc and one that was particularly good.
