Technician – Fine Art Digital Processes
Part-time 18.5 hours per week
£15,699 - £17,453 per annum, pro rata
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well qualified person in
Information Technology/ Digital Processes to work within the School of
Arts Design & Media & Culture. As part of the technical support team
for departmental and School support, you will be based at Thornhill
Park, but can work across all areas of the School.
You will be educated to HND level or higher in Information Technology
or similar subject or have the appropriate work experience. The key
element of the post is to support the digital processes that relate to
Fine Art across the School. Therefore you should have relevant work
experience in Information Technology and have broad skills/knowledge
across the various operating systems such as Windows, Apple Macintosh
OS, Peripherals, Networking and Multimedia. Additional skills in fault
finding/troubleshooting are required alongside an understanding of
design as they relate to computer imaging.
Good organisational skills to keep accurate records and inventories are
required as well as an ability to organise, issue, maintain & control
Information Technology resources and equipment. You must be flexible,
helpful, resourceful and able to work without close supervision. You
must have the confidence and experience to advise/help researches,
staff and students at all levels. An ability and willingness to keep
abreast of new technologies and practices with the Information
Technology Industry is required. There will be a necessity to work
contracted overtime as and when required.
