A number of invited speakers and tutorial sessions will review current
state-of-the-art developments and outline future directions in three
conferences. This embedded with the current research being undertaken in
industry and in academia will provide coverage of the salient aspects and
sub-areas of visualisation and graphics. Such work will be presented in a
series of symposia. One of which is the 'DIGITAL ART' symposium.
Authors are invited to send three copies of their extended abstract or
the full paper to the chairperson of symposium.
Artists are invited to submit their current digital art-work for
exhibition in CGIV04 - DIGITAL ART GALLERY.
Papers presenting original research with the theme of 'DIGITAL ART' are
being sought. Suggested topics include (but are not limited to):
--Preparing Artist to Learn Programming,
--Preparing Programmer to Learn Aesthetics.
--Interrelationship between disciplines (Computer Science, Visual Arts,
Dance, etc.)

--Challenge and Aesthetic Quality

--Oil or Pixel - a Disappearing Distinction. Process (including

--Game and Interactive Multimedia with a Purpose
--Using Computer to its Fullest Potential for the Artistic Product:

The "2005 CU Special Year in Art and Mathematics" is a program whose main
sponsors are the Department of Art and Art History, Mathematics, and the
UMC Gallery of the University of Colorado at Boulder. The Special Year
focuses on the exploration of the relationship between art and mathematics
with an accent on the visual arts. The Special Year will enrich the
experience of art and mathematics for students and the community by
presenting those subjects in a new, exciting way that creates new meaning.
It will help build a University-Town partnership in where everybody will
benefit greatly from the planned activities.
