TRIP #6: Media Futures
Day One: Thursday 9th June
The Restless Image: using motion capture as a research tool
This day will be devoted solely to various aspect of ‘motion capture’
both from a technical and social perspective.
How can motion capture be used as a research and development tool? How
can motion capture be used for rapid prototyping?
The day will include a live demonstration using one of our motion
capture suites in the School of Informatics, and seminar work
discussing the impact of this and other forms of digital capture used
in film and video on the collaborative process and visual research in
more general terms.
Day Two: Friday 10th June
The Pedagogic Image
In the morning there will be informal presentations of current research
in Education and discussion of future directions in this area. The
sessions will focus on transformations in approaches to pedagogy that
have occurred through the use of digital media technologies.
As this is the final event in the TRIP seminar series the afternoon will
be focused on evaluation of the impact of the project.
