i-DAT [Institute of Digital Art & Technology] is dedicated to exploring
innovative applications of digital technology through collaborations
between artists, academics and researchers in emergent fields of practice,
on a regional, national and international basis. i-DAT runs courses across
the spectrum of higher education. i-DAT also benefits from an
international collaboration with artists working in laboratories across
the globe and attracts international recognised new media practitioners
and post-doctoral researchers. More information on i-DAT's activities can

We are looking for a dynamic addition to our team. This two-year post, is
funded by the Arts Council England, Plymouth City Council and Aimhigher.
As a member of the Institute of Digital Art and Technology [i-DAT], The
Outreach Curator is required to increase accessibility and define new
audiences, in partnership with regional and international art/science
organisations and networks to develop the profile and impact of i-DAT. A
key part of the role is to create activity to enhance i-DAT's work with a
range of communities in Plymouth.
The i-DAT Outreach Curator post will be an integral role within a
trans-disciplinary team that includes researchers, lecturers and artists
in residence. The primary purpose of this post is for audience
development. This will also involve, fundraising, marketing and promotion
of i-DAT's creative activity, enhancing the public understanding of new
fields of creative practice.
Candidates should have a minimum of two years experience of developing
arts projects, ideally with experience of interdisciplinary
art/science/technology projects. The applicant must be able to contribute
to a creative production environment and be committed to an
interdisciplinary ethos across the fields of arts and technology. We are
looking for a dynamic addition to our team with a background that reflects
and extends our projects, research and teaching interests.
