Your 1/30 ratio is actually fairly generous, I'd say. Here is a different
approach. These links are primarily to the sites of individuals engaged in
the art of the Net whether the work is sonic or visual or literary or
programmerly or some combination (usually the latter):

Most of the poetry sites I encounter, by the way, would be better in a book
or chapbook format, are solely print-minded, are in denial of the basic
circumstances of their existence. And suffer because of it. Are 'imitation
print'.

There are some that are no longer in denial that they are not in print but
don't quite know where they are. They can be charming, depending on the tone
of the unknowing and what they make of not knowing where they are.

Then there are some that have arrived quite hideously at what appears to be
Las Vegas.

And some that have begun to explore the new terrain elsewhere than Las Vegas
but clumsily. Intrepid but without a sense of how to feel in the media/um.

A very few that are both at home in the media/um and producing consequential
art.

And the above by no means describes them all.

Subject: So much rubbish everywhere

I'm in a bad mood so I'm posting. Recently I began trawling through poetry
sites again. I last tried this over two years ago, with the aim of getting
some instructive pointers out on the terriblework site but I got so bored
and there were so many of them -mostly american - that I gave up. There also
seemed to be plenty of other anoraks out there to gush about each other's
fantastically constructed web sites of rubbish. Anyway, thought I'd better
take another look - if anything it's got worse - yes, the sites have got
even classier looking, but the content of most of them remains piss-poor. On
average i have found about one in 10 has anything going for it and about one
in 20 is good and one in 30 is brilliant - something like that.
