Unfriendly, Todd?
I asked you to stop spamming me. There are established lists such as britpo
for broadcasting such data. I realise many recipients there are poets of a
high standard, but quite honestly that's the sort of standard you should be
aiming for too
My message in total was "hi todd / wld you remove me from your list? / L" I
can't see that it was unfriendly. Just functional
The last time we met, I was perfectly courteous to you though your manner to
me was more than a little patronising. On what basis I don't know.
& today you'll note I made no comment about the remarks in your spam - "very
fine poets" or "the more experienced poet." or "distinguished poets" though
undoubtedly such ridiculous hyperbole may have affected my decision to try
to avoid ever seeing another such message. It always has been your tendency
to such exaggerations, and a few other tendencies, that has come between us
If you think that "hi todd / wld you remove me from your list? / L" is
unfriendly then, on average, you are overdue some very unpleasant times.
I can only think you are still upset about the Poetry London review. Try to
get over it. But don't send me *any more email please
I wish you everything you deserve.
Yours
Lawrence Upton
very fine experienced distinguished poet
