Matt,
Thanks for this, works fine. Only problem being the 50 character limit. Had to struggle a wee bit to get the image at a short URL.
best,
Arthur

Hi!
Here is a tip Sam and I found today that we thought others would be
interested to try. It's a variation of the
as menu item trick that was
discussed before, I think on this list, if not one of the asu ones. If it's
already been covered then we apologise for the duplication :)
An instructor wanted some extra branding on his course other than the
institution logo and the course banner above announcements.
We found that you could use an <img scr=" tag in the menu item name box as
long as it doesn't exceed 50 characters.
So
1) Control Panel > Manage Course Menu
2) Click Add External Link
3) In Area Name box type: Use
119 (width) x whatever you like pixel sized image.
(http://www.soton.ac.uk/~md4/p.gif is the example we were testing with)
4) Target = web page you want the branding image to link to
5) Tick "launch in external window" if you wish
6) Tick "allow Guest Access" if you will be allowing guests to view the
course
7) Leave other tick boxes as they are
8) click submit
9) choose order of menu items to place your branding graphic where you want
it (most likely top or bottom)
We found that 119 pixels was the maximum width we could use before getting a
scroll bar at the bottom of the menu.
We tested this on our AP1 installation and AP2 dev box and it worked ok.
Not sure of the implications when copying a course, or whether this would be
officially sanctioned by Blackboard.
Now we were thinking about using an animated gif :)
Cheers
