We are still on AP2 SP3 and installed the new version of Java (1.5) on
the server. So I haven't tested it with AP3.
When I click on "Generate Staff Profile" I get a Java exception that it
has the wrong version of certain java classes.
So it means that the combination of AP2 and Java 1.5 aren't working
properly. Hopefully in AP3 this isn't a problem, but I want to test it
before we go in production with it.
Regards,
Willem

Onderwerp: Re: Did anyone upgrade to 6.3 already?
I have been watching this discussion with interest, as we have been
running beta version of 6.3 on test boxes for a few months and are soon
to move our production server over.
I am even more interested as one of the authors of the "Staff Profile
Tool" mentioned by Willem :-)
I think we need to be careful of the terminology here - when does a
building block not work?
As far as I can tell, this block still runs fine on our 6.3 server (Java
1.5) as do all our other blocks. The only problem I have come across is
that the label for many tools in the Control Panel or Sys Admin Panel
displays incorrectly for many old blocks - this one included. Rather
than see "Staff Profile Tool" you get something like this:
"acme-staffP-nav-1.label". Note though that the tool still works if you
click on the link.
This is because the details of the bb-manifest file have now been
tightened up, andtext entries such as the tool label now need to have a
language specified, where they didn't in the past.
In the old version it was just:

Staff Profile Tool

Now there should be multiple entries specifying the language, e.g.

Staff Profile Tool

I will be updating my tools in the catalogue soon - I am just finishing
local ones on our servers first!
Malcolm.
