We are organising a conference at Jilin University, Changchun
(http://www.jlu.edu.cn/english/), in the northern part of China, for the
week of August 15th this year. The topic will be the technical
development of ideas which have been inspired in some way by the study
of biology. This covers engineering of all types, materials (and
related topics), control, robotics, analysis of suitable biological
examples, methods for technology transfer, implications for sustainable
living, architecture, design.
China is not an expensive country, and it is likely that there will be
substantial subsidies available for students and invited speakers.
Please send informal expressions of interest to me, with an indication
of the topic area you would be interested in.
