We have used the Red Eye to control Cable boxes via Progs and Sicare
Pilots. We've controlled Sky boxes directly without the need to fit a
Red Eye. We've only come upon Sky+ when fitting SRS equipment. Are you
sure you need a Red Eye for Sky+?
The Red Eye is attached, using a sticky pad, to the front panel window
of the cable box and it takes its power from the IR Blaster Out socket
on the back. It's got an IR detector and an emitter on opposite sides
of its pcb. It basically converts the incoming IR e.g. Philips
OnDigital signals to IRDA.
There is one annoying problem, the Red Eye's sticky pad tends to fail
and the Red Eye falls off. We've resorted to fixlock pads to try to
make the Red Eye more secure.
It will be a whole lot easier if you have a One for All remote e.g. URC
7540 to act as a source for the Philips codes.
