Can I just alert people to a SENIT meeting at Meldreth Manor School on
Thursday the 16th June.
The SENIT group is for teachers, advisers, and others working within
education to share practical advice about how ICT can be used to support
pupils with learning difficulties or disabilities in inclusive or
special education settings.
We have regular face to face meetings at various locations around the
country.
I haven't got a final agenda together yet, but so far I have heard from
Tina Detheridge (Widgit software) who will show some of the latest
Communicate series of symbol software from Widgit (Webwise, InPrint).
Terry Waller (BECTA) would like to discuss future developments of the
Becta forum lists.
Roger Bates will show the new SwitchIt Maker and some new stuff from
Intellitools.
I would like to go through the ICT part of the AAC/pmld curriculum.
Chris Hopkins will be demonstrating how to easily create accessible
multimedia using Opus.
I would like steer towards more practical hands on sessions rather than
talking, showing and discussing.
Any suggestions from people who have anything that they specifically
want shown or especially from anyone who has anything that they want to
show are very welcome.
Meldreth is near Cambridge, meeting start around 10, lunch will be
provided (though there might be a cover charge).
The meetings are open to all, just email me if you are coming so I have
some ideas of numbers.
I will post further details and full directions later.
