Have you spoken to anyone at MHRA? Alan Lynch, yesterday, was extolling the virtues of a dialogue between MHRA & us real people, rather than just churning out incident reports (or not).

Subject: wheelchair driving unattended
Dear All,
I am working with a client with a Spectra Plus chair fitted with Penny and
Giles Pilot Plus electronics. The client drives using the
single switch scanner in the OMNI special controls module using a single
chin bead switch. He has an on/off switch also. The chair is fitted with a
dual control.
On at least four occassions the carers have described a situation with the
chair driving without the client using the switches. On at least two
occassions the dual control has been set to attendant. The lights on the
dual control have been flashing rapidly and the battery gauge similarly.
I have returned the OMNI and the Dual Control to P&G. The Dual Control
joystick was faulty but it doesn't really explain the problem.
P&G are not very forthcoming. Just recently the fault occurred again with
the dual switched to chair. I have tested the switches etc many times
without luck.
Has anyone had a similar problem?
thanks
