We supplied one, but I haven't heard how he is getting on: I plan to visit
him soon: I'll ask him
I think Colin Geggies article in ACNR is still the definitive one!

Subject: possible research in speech recognition ecs
To users and providers of (in fact everyone who has experience of) speech
recognition environmental control systems
Dear All
I am planning a research project to look at the usage and success of speech
recognition environmental control systems (ECS) in the UK. To judge the
feasibility of this, I'm looking for people who have provided, or have
themselves used, speech recognition ECS. I am specifically looking for a
number of people (probably around 10) who have successfully used them and a
number who have tried them and decided not to use them.
So, assuming research ethics and governance approval,
1. if you provide ECS within the public or private sector, would you be
prepared to approach people to whom you have provided speech recognition
ECS to see if they would be prepared to take part in this study? If so, how
many people could you approach? (please don't send anybody's name, just say
whether you would approach them)
2. If you are a user of speech recognition ECS, would you be prepared to be
interviewed and/or answer a questionnaire regarding your use of the device?
thank you in advance
Mark
