Dear all,
We installed a Quadra 1100 security system in our library in September 2003 with Demco, which included a year's maintenance contract with Intrepid Security. This lapsed in September 2004 and, owing to an oversight on both sides, wasn't renewed. We're now preparing to set up a maintence contract for 'parts, labour and travel' but our Operations Manager has asked me to enquire via my 'friendly librarian network' whether this is worth it or not. There's no annual service, it's a 'just in case' kind of thing and costs £450 a year.
So my questions are:
- what do other small libraries do?
- has anyone a similar system, and if so, what has gone wrong with it, if anything?
Thanks (and apologies for being so technical on a Friday afternoon!),
Christine
