********************************
May 5th-6th, University of Sussex
From the Cambridge Anthropological Expedition to the Torres Straits in 1898
to award-winning 'Indigenous Media' productions such as 'Atanarjuat'

& media studies scholars, and film-makers to explore the dynamic
relationship between the moving image and ethnographic practice. The event
includes academic papers, film screenings and discussion sessions.
Speakers include:
Marcus Banks, Oxford University
Faye Ginsburg, New York University
Cathy Greenhalgh, London College of Communication
Anand Patwardhan, Independent Film-maker, Mombai
Catherine Russell, Concordia University
