LECTURER OR SENIOR LECTURER x2
2 YR FIXED TERM LECTURER from 1 September 2005
You will join one of the largest and most dynamic Anthropology departments
in the UK. The Department was awarded a 5 grade in the 2001 Research
Assessment Exercise; its excellence of teaching has recently been confirmed
through a Periodic Programme Review.
You will be expected to be fully involved in teaching, research and
administration.
No specific regional or theoretical specialism is required, though the
Department seeks to consolidate areas of particular distinction, including
political and economic anthropology, visual anthropology, and medical
anthropology; for the fixed term position, preference may also be given to
a candidate able to teach the anthropology of religion. You will have a
PhD, significant teaching and administrative experience, and an outstanding
research and publication record. You will be capable of teaching across a
range of core and option courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate
levels.
Salary either be on the Senior Lecturer scale: £39,692 - £44,707 Lecturer B
scale £30,123 - £38,017; or the Lecturer A scale £25,777 - £29,250 per
annum inclusive of £2,134 London Weighting per annum, depending on
qualifications and experience.
