Conference at the Oriental Institute (UChicago): 'Performi
The IInd Annual University of Chicago Oriental Institute Symposium,
'Performing Death. Social Analyses of Funerary Traditions in the
Ancient Mediterranean', will focus on analyzing and interpreting
the role of funerary practices in the construction of social
dynamics in ancient communities. The conference's wide
chronological span will include case studies ranging from Neolithic
to Roman periods.
The conference will be held at the Oriental Institute from February
17-18, 2006, and will feature the following speakers:
