THE SUPPOSED CRISIS OF EUROPEAN IDENTITY

Who do the Europeans think they are? How have they responded to the dilution of a once homogenous culture and identity? Do they in fact have an identity or merely responded to a succession of waves of immigrants, or constructed their identity on the basis of the 'Other'. We shall explore how white Europeans perceive themselves, how they are perceived by others, and their concerns about non-whites.
Christopher Howse, of white English origin, was educated in London and Oxford, is Assistant Editor of the Daily Telegraph.
Britt Krause, of white Danish origin, is an anthropologist and family therapist at the Tavistock Clinic, London.
Sofie Baarnhielm, of white Swedish origin, is a Psychiatrist and Director, Transcultural Centre, Stockholm, Sweden. She will be joined by her multi-disciplinary team on a study tour of Mornington Unit and UCL cultural psychiatry programme.
Roland Littlewood, of white Swiss & English origin, is Professor of Psychiatry & Anthropology, University College London.
Sushrut Jadhav, of Indian origin, is Senior Lecturer in Cross-cultural Psychiatry, University College London; Editor, Anthropology & Medicine journal; Consultant Psychiatrist & Director, Programme for Cross-Cultural Psychiatry, Mornington PICU, Huntley Centre.
Victoria Manzini, of Black South African origin, is Deputy Ward Manager & Lead Cross-Cultural Psychiatric Nurse on the Mornington PICU.
