My client is currently looking for a Biostatistics Manager to provide a
statistical consultancy and analysis service to all departments and be
responsible for all aspects of the administration, organisation and
management of the Statistics department.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Line management responsibility for the Statistics
department, including training and career development of staff,
scheduling and project management of work.
With the Head of Statistics, budgetary responsibility for
the department, including controlling costs, preparation of budgets and
advising on charges for routine work.
Statistical consultancy and analysis of data from studies.
Peer review of others' work. This may involve work for any department on
site; regular internal customers include Mammalian Toxicology,
Metabolism, Ecotoxicology, Genetic and Molecular Toxicology,
Biotechnology, Formulations and Pharmacology.
Developing and running SAS programs to produce non-standard
analyses, data listings, tables and graphs for specific studies.
Ensuring that such tables and figures are produced in a timely and
accurate manner, in accordance with defined standards.
Providing peer review of SAS code / SAS datasets.
With the Head of Statistics and Principal Statistician,
developing statistical software for use by the Statistics department.
Liaising with the Study Directors, Statisticians and other
report writers with regard to timescales and
specifications/requirements.
Liaising with external clients over specific requirements.
Ensuring that the work of the department is performed in
accordance with departmental and company procedures within specified
time frames.
Developing and maintaining good working relationships with
members of staff on site and with external clients.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
BSc(Hons) in Statistics or equivalent
Proven management skills
Proven aptitude for computer programming
Minimum 10 years relevant pre-clinical statistical
experience, including SAS programming
