SALARY: £22 509 - £29 130 (05/06 pay inflation to be added - Subject to Agenda for Change job evaluation)
HOURS: 30 hours a week worked over 4 days
CONTRACT: Substantive.
BASE: Hucknall Health Centre
The Nottingham Primary Care Research Partnership (NPCRP) was formed in April 2002 and is hosted by Broxtowe and Hucknall PCT. The Partnership is a collaboration of primary care NHS researchers in Nottingham. The Partnership has 5 programmes of research.
This is a new post that has been created to work primarily on the Coronary Heart Disease and Diabetes Programme of Research. You will be a quantitative researcher/statistician. You will be undertaking statistical analyses of large datasets plus a range of research duties relating to quantitative research studies that are taking place. You will also provide statistical advice and support to the Nottingham Primary Care Research Partnership generally. You will be based in the Research and Development Department at Hucknall Health Centre and will work closely with the Programme Lead and other researchers.
You will need a Masters degree in medical statistics or related discipline, a good working knowledge of statistical methods and recent experience of undertaking statistical analyses using large datasets and use of statistical packages eg STATA, SPSS, SAS. You will also need quantitative health related research experience.
There is an option for the successful post holder to have a separate contact with the University of Nottingham for 1 day a week to make the post up to full time for a period of 5 years. The post holder would be based at the University for these additional hours. This additional contract is optional and applicants who only wish to work for 30 hours a week are welcomed.
