ESRC NATIONAL CENTRE FOR RESEARCH METHODS
RESEARCH FELLOW IN STATISTICAL METHODOLOGY
For 36 months, starting 1 April 2005 or later by agreement.
Salary in research scale 1A, initially up to GBP 25,699.
The Research Fellow will join the Lancaster-Warwick node of the new ESRC
National Centre for Research Methods, and will be based in the
Department of Statistics at Warwick (RAE 2001 rating 5*). The
post-holder will work with Professor David Firth on pseudo-likelihood
methods for complex mixed-effects generalized linear and nonlinear
models in social research. Duties will include methodological
development, software implementation and documentation in R,
contribution to publications in both statistical and social science
journals, and contribution to the organisation and delivery of training
and research workshops.
A PhD in statistics or related discipline, or equivalent research
experience, is highly desirable for this post. Strong collaborative,
organisational and presentational skills will be important.
