Applications are invited for the post of Postgraduate Teaching Project
Officer for the Postgraduate Statistics Centre of Excellence. The Centre
results from Lancaster's successful bid to HEFCE for a Centre of
Excellence in Teaching and Learning in Postgraduate Statistics. This
exciting development provides opportunities for staff to develop new
approaches to teaching statistics both within the Department of
Mathematics & Statistics and to a wide range of disciplines at the
postgraduate level. The bid provides academic staff, support staff and
also funds a new building to house the resulting expansion in activity
including state of the art teaching and learning spaces.
The project officer will be expected to:
· Provide pro-active support for the Director in pursuing the Centre's strategic aims of expanding its internal and external course provision and diversifying its funding sources
· Provide active support for the Director and academics within
the Centre in the development and pursuit of the Centre's strategy for
enhanced postgraduate learning and teaching
· Provide day to day administrative support for the Centre.
This is a full-time fixed term post that runs until 31st March 2010.
