Lecturer (Fixed Term) in Mathematics
(3-year contract)
Applicants are invited for a fixed-term (3-year contract) lecturing
position in Mathematics at below the bar level.
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and supervision
at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, undertake relevant
administrative duties and contribute to the research profile of the
Department. Candidates should hold a PhD in Mathematics or
Statistics. Excellent teaching ability is required and appropriate
lecturing experience at University level is desirable.
The Department runs full degree programmes in both the Arts and
Science faculties and is also the major contributor to the denominated
degrees in Mathematical Science/Computer Science and in Financial
Mathematics & Economics. At the postgraduate level the Department has
active masters' and PhD programmes. It also provides service courses
in the Science, Engineering and Commerce faculties. Preference will be
given to candidates in the areas of Statistics, Probability or
Biomathematics. Further information on the Department may be found at

The successful candidate must be in a position to take up lecturing
duties on 1 September 2005.

Salary: €33,950 x 10 = €48,149 p.a.
