VISITING POSITIONS AT UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA SANTA BARBARA
The Department of Statistics and Applied Probability at UC Santa Barbara
has visiting faculty positions available for academic year 2004-2005
(re-appointment possible for a second year depending upon Department
needs). Quarter long visits are also possible. Teaching and research
interests in applied statistics, theoretical statistics, and applied
probability are all welcome.

Faculty interests currently include Bayesian computation, bootstrap
methods, directional data analysis, functional data analysis, Bayesian
networks, massive data sets and retrieval algorithms, multi-dimensional
scaling, nonparametric modeling, smoothing spline methods, heavy-tailed
stochastic models, stochastic calculus, nonlinear stochastic partial
differential equations, applications in biology, stochastic models in
finance, and time series. The Department's computing facilities are
excellent. UCSB has a stimulating environment, and Santa Barbara is a
very attractive place to be.
