As an integral part of Clinical Information Science, Biostatistics you will
provide expert statistical and strategic advice, transferring new compounds
from discovery to clinical, through regulatory submissions to
commercialisation and life cycle management.
Responsibilities
As a Project Statistician, you'll need extensive experience in these areas
and must be able to apply advanced statistical theory and techniques to
clinical development. You'll lead the statistical contribution on projects
of various sizes, working with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure delivery.
You'll provide statistical consultancy and set high statistical standards
across the project.
Minimum Requirements - Education and Experience
In addition to your academic qualifications (MSc or PhD) you'll need at
least five years' experience with an MSc or three years with a PhD as a
statistician in the health care sector. This must include clinical
programme design, analysis, interpretation, reporting and communication,
in various phases of development.
Skills & Capabilities
Able to collaborate and influence at all levels, you'll be expected to have
excellent communication skills with both statisticans and non-
statisticians, and will be required to represent the project at various
external meetings (e.g. advisory boards, regulatory mettings and
international conferences).
Good leadership, team working and communication skills (both written and
oral) are essential. Specialist therapeutic knowledge of oncology,
infection, cardiovascular or inflammation would be an advantage.
