Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Highly Structured Stochastic Systems.
We seek applications from suitable candidates for this position which forms
part of the Bath Institute for Complex Systems (BICS), funded under the UK
EPSRC ``Critical Mass'' programme. The position is for three years and is
planned to start in early January 2006, although there is some flexibility
in the start date. This position will suit relatively recent doctoral
graduates with experience in statistical theory and modelling. Essential
prerequisites will be an interest in modern methods of statistical
computing (such as Markov chain Monte Carlo), in Bayesian methodology and
in interdisciplinary work. The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to
interact with workers from other disciplines, for example in applied
mathematics, engineering, physics and the biological sciences and with
workers in related fields from industry.
