CLINICAL TRIALS AND STATISTICS UNIT
SENIOR MEDICAL STATISTICIAN
The Institute of Cancer Research, one of the world's leading cancer research centres, is looking for an experienced medical statistician to join its Clinical Trials and Statistics Unit (ICR-CTSU) at its Sutton site. ICR-CTSU runs a portfolio of national and international phase III multicentre randomised controlled trials with a special emphasis in breast cancer treatment and radiotherapy technology trials.
This is a new senior post funded by Cancer Research UK. The postholder will contribute to the scientific, managerial and strategic development of the Unit and will potentially be involved in all aspects surrounding the development and statistical component of trials run within ICR-CTSU. S/he will take the Unit lead on the development of new trials in a selected clinical area.
Applicants should have a higher degree (MSc or PhD) in medical or applied statistics. They will need at least 10 years experience as a medical statistician working in the field of clinical trials and evidence of research activity and scientific creativity with an interest in developing and applying innovative statistical and clinical trials methodology. Project management experience, excellent interpersonal and management skills are also required.
Appointment to this position will be non-time limited with salary from £40,405 to £47,463 pa inclusive.
